Trade licence in Bangladesh — application, renewal, fee and documents

বাংলায় পড়ুন

Every business needs a trade licence from its local government body — city corporation, pourashava or union parishad. It is usually valid for one fiscal year (July–June) and must be renewed every year.

Who issues it

  • City corporation areas: the corporation's revenue/licensing section (zone offices, often online)
  • Pourashava areas: the municipality
  • Rural areas: the union parishad

The Local Government Division (LGD) regulates these bodies but does not accept trade licence applications itself.

How the fee is set

By business type, capital/size and area under the local government tax schedule, plus signboard tax, VAT and — at renewal — applicable advance income tax.

Fees, documents and timelines change — always confirm with your local office.
