New Voter Registration (First NID)

Once you turn 18, you can apply online for new voter registration at any time from services.nidw.gov.bd. Who can apply
People who have turned 18 but are not yet registered as a voter/NID holder, even if left out because of living in the country or abroad.
Documents required
- Online birth registration certificate
- SSC or equivalent certificate (if available)
- Proof of address: copy of utility bill / citizen certificate
- Photocopies of the NID cards of parents and, if married, spouse
- Passport, driving license, TIN (if available)
Steps
- Go to services.nidw.gov.bd and start the new registration application
- Fill in the information and upload the required documents
- Print/save the application form
- On the specified day, go to the Upazila/Thana election office and give your photo, fingerprints and eye iris scan
- When registration is complete, download your NID online
Processing time: Depends on the time taken to verify information and complete biometrics.

- Applying before turning 18; there is no scope for humanitarian consideration either
- Registering in two places; it is caught by fingerprints and is punishable
