Making a Travel Itinerary — Day-by-Day Planning and an Itinerary for Your Visa

বাংলায় পড়ুন

A good itinerary says where you stay each night, what you see, how you move between cities and how long it takes. A visa itinerary needs dates, cities, hotel names and addresses and flight numbers — and must match your hotel and ticket bookings exactly.

What a visa itinerary should contain

Day/dateCityActivityStay
Day 1Dhaka → destinationFlight number, arrival timeHotel name and address
Day 2Destination cityMain sightsSame hotel
Last dayDestination → DhakaReturn flight number—

Mistakes to avoid

  • Too many cities in one day — looks good on paper but is unrealistic and unconvincing to a visa officer
  • Hotel in the itinerary differs from the booking
  • Return date beyond the visa validity

  1. Subtract travel days from the total to get your sightseeing days
  2. Pick cities/areas — staying at least 2–3 nights per city wastes less time in transit
  3. Plan 2–3 main sights per day and group nearby places together
  4. Write the transport mode and time within and between cities
  5. Keep a light day every 3–4 days
  6. For a visa, list every night's hotel and the flights in a table that matches your bookings

FAQ

Is an itinerary mandatory for a visa?

Many countries' checklists ask for one, some don't. Either way, a clear itinerary makes your file more credible.

Can I change plans after getting the visa?

Small changes are usually fine, but changing the main destination or purpose may breach visa conditions. Check that country's rules.
