Tourist Visa Application — Documents and Steps on a Bangladeshi Passport

বাংলায় পড়ুন

Almost every country's tourist visa asks for similar papers: a valid passport plus old passports, photos to spec, bank statement and solvency certificate, proof of occupation (job NOC or trade licence), hotel and flight bookings and an itinerary. You apply at the embassy or its authorised visa centre — not through a broker.

What matters about your bank statement

  • The embassy looks at where the money comes from — a sudden large deposit just before applying raises doubts
  • The statement needs the bank's seal and signature; the solvency certificate is a separate paper
  • If a family member pays, a sponsorship letter and their statement may be needed

Common reasons for refusal

  • Mismatched information (name, occupation, income)
  • Not enough proof you will return (job, business, family, property)
  • Fake hotel bookings, NOCs or bank papers — this also puts future applications at risk

Caution

  • Avoid anyone promising a "guaranteed visa" or "a contact in the embassy"
  • Pay fees only through the visa centre's/embassy's official channel and keep the receipt

Visa rules, entry requirements, fees and travel tax change from time to time — check the latest notice of the embassy/visa centre and Bangladesh Bank before you apply.

  1. Check the visa type (Tourist/Visit) and document list on the destination embassy or official visa site
  2. Make sure your passport is valid (usually 6+ months) and gather old passports with previous visas
  3. Get recent bank statements and a solvency certificate from your bank
  4. Employees: office NOC and salary proof; business owners: trade licence and TIN/return copy
  5. Prepare return-flight and hotel bookings (many countries accept a reservation, not a paid ticket) and a day-by-day itinerary
  6. Fill in the online form, book a visa-centre appointment, pay the fee and give biometrics if required
  7. Track the status online with your receipt; check the visa details when you collect your passport

FAQ

How much money must be in my bank account for a visa?

There is no single fixed amount — it depends on the country, length of stay and costs. The embassy checks whether you can cover your declared costs and whether the money's source is regular.

Do I need a confirmed air ticket for the visa?

Many countries want only a booking/reservation. Submit what the embassy list asks for — buying a non-refundable ticket before the visa is risky.

Can I reapply after a refusal?

Usually yes. Fix the reason given in the refusal letter before reapplying; the same weak papers will likely get the same result.
