Sri Lanka tourist visa (ETA) from Bangladesh
Every tourist needs an online ETA before entering Sri Lanka. In 2026 Sri Lanka waived the fee for citizens of a list of countries, but the ETA itself is still mandatory for everyone. Check on the official site whether Bangladesh is on the fee-free list when you apply. An ETA is usually valid for 30 days with double entry.
Sri Lanka tour cost from Bangladesh
- Airfare: there are direct Dhaka–Colombo flights, and the trip is short
- Transport: hiring a car with driver for the whole trip is the most common and comfortable; trains and buses are far cheaper on a budget
- Hotels: guesthouses in Kandy, Ella and Galle are affordable; beach resorts are expensive
- Entry tickets: Sigiriya Rock and some national parks charge foreigners a lot — budget them separately
- Food: rice and curry feels familiar to Bangladeshis; Colombo and the coast have halal restaurants
Colombo Kandy packages and the Sri Lanka honeymoon package
A typical package covers Colombo, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya or Bentota by car with driver. Honeymooners often keep the last two nights at a south-coast beach resort. Check whether Sigiriya and national park tickets are included — they are the costly part.

Best time to visit Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka has two separate monsoons, so somewhere has good weather all year. The west and south coasts (Colombo, Galle, Mirissa) are best December–March; the east coast (Trincomalee, Arugam Bay) April–September; the hill country is drier January–April.
