Vietnam issues online e-visas to all nationalities, so Bangladeshis can apply themselves on the official portal. There's no direct flight from Dhaka — you connect via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. The country is long, so first choose the north (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay), the centre (Da Nang, Hoi An) or the south (Ho Chi Minh City).

Vietnam tourist visa for Bangladeshis

Since 2023 Vietnam has offered e-visas to all nationalities, valid for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry. Apply on the immigration department's official portal — many look-alike private sites charge two or three times the fee. The arrival airport on your application must match your ticket.

Vietnam tour cost from Bangladesh

Connecting flights make the airfare higher than Thailand, but costs on the ground are low:

  • Hotels: good small hotels in Hanoi's Old Quarter and Hoi An are affordable
  • Ha Long Bay cruise: an overnight cruise takes a big share of the budget — day tours are cheaper, overnight is the better experience
  • Domestic travel: flights are fastest from Hanoi to Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City; trains are scenic but much slower
  • Food: halal food is limited, with a few restaurants in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; seafood and vegetarian options are easy

Family travel and the Vietnam honeymoon package

Couples love Hoi An's old town (lantern-lit at night) and an overnight Ha Long Bay cruise. Families find Da Nang convenient — beaches, Ba Na Hills (the Golden Bridge) and comfortable hotels.

Sample 7-day Vietnam itinerary

  • Day 1: arrive in Hanoi, Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake
  • Day 2: Ha Long Bay — overnight on a cruise
  • Day 3: back to Hanoi, afternoon flight to Da Nang
  • Day 4: Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge
  • Day 5: Hoi An old town, lantern market at night
  • Day 6: My Khe beach, Marble Mountains
  • Day 7: fly home

Best time to visit Vietnam

Weather differs by region. In the north (Hanoi, Ha Long), February–April and October–November are pleasant; December–January is quite cold. The centre (Da Nang, Hoi An) is best February–August, with heavy rain and storms September–November. The south is dry December–April. Around Tet (Vietnamese New Year, January–February) many shops close.
